Maite Perroni se une a Beautiful Lengths
When Maite Perroni is not filming a new music video or talking about her clothing line, she spends her time by raising awareness for those who are battling cancer.
The Mexican singer and actress is an advocate for the campaign Beautiful Lengths, which for the past eight years has been donating real-hair free wigs to women who have been diagnosed with breast cancer.
“This month of October is the perfect time to motivate people to donate their hair,” Perroni, 31, said to VOXXI in an exclusive interview. “And that we begin to create awareness because November 22nd is also National Donate Your Hair Day.”
By forming part of this initiative, Perroni is helping continue the labor and objective that has been accomplished in the past eight years with this project –which has received an estimate of about 600 thousand donations since it began in 2006.
In the midst of a meet-and-greet, taking photos with fans and cutting people’s hair for donation. Perroni hopes that many more people collaborate with this great cause, inviting everyone to do it and to chop off eight inches or more of their locks.
She also sent an empowering message to those who are battling with the often-deadly disease:
The former RBD band member signed off by sending lots of encouragement to cancer patients. “Continue to enjoy life, because it’s the most beautiful thing that we have.”“Life is a wonderful gift and it doesn’t matter how difficult it gets…put your heart, your purpose to move forward, your strength and your interest to keep on,” she said. “We must fight, we must move forward, and do everything possible to get better every day.”
